These 3d artworks - "Glossary" - are made from a collection of previous works manipulated into patterns and scanned, smaller hand done illustrations by me and my own personal photographs which have either been digitally manipulated or added to by hand.  Found objects also appear occasionally in these works.

 

Recurring imagery of apples and snakes are often found in my works.  I find these images inspiring,  powerful, full of drama and pictorially significant for women particularly.

Each work is completely individual.  Pieces are all hand cut and either adhered directly onto a painted background or glued onto a thicker board and placed onto the works offering a more 3d effect.

As I begin these new works, I am pondering how words are important and how I myself do not use them affectively enough.....This is taking me on a quest, if you will, to find beautiful works and to express them pictorially, endeavouring to provide a whimsical artwork starting with this vocabulary of beautiful words.  You will often find the title of the work written in script font, mirrored on itself and reversed creating an almost insect like image within each of these works.  I have named this collection Glossary.
